In the course, students study learning and teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the light of current research. Didactic theories are compared and related to methodology, including the use of digital tools. Particular focus is placed on the connection between learning strategies and the learner‘s language development, as well as the challenges that learners with different linguistic backgrounds may face when learning Chinese as a foreign language. In this context, the importance of intercultural competence for teaching and learning Chinese is also discussed.
