The course starts with operations on different forms of numbers like decimal numbers, fractions, square roots and indicies. Especially, rounding up, significant figures and estimates, as well as the concepts: percentage, per thousand and parts-per-million are treated. Units, symbols and scales commonly used in architectonic applications are introduced.The second part of the course is focussed on elementary algebra: equations and formulae transponation, geometry: uniformity, angles, calculations of triangles, circles and area- and volume calculations. The course ends by treating simple functions and elementary statistical concepts.
