Artificial Intelligence is an integral part of current software systems. AI influences the way software is designed, developed, and deployed. As the adoption of intelligent and learning components grows, there is a rising demand for professionals who can engineer robust, ethical, and scalable AI-enabled systems. The Master of Science in Software Engineering for AI (SE4AI) provides a comprehensive education in Software Engineering applied to systems with AI and Machine Learning components. The program builds on core topics in software engineering, to cover advanced concepts in building AI-enabled systems, such software architecture, system design, and quality assurance. This is combined with cutting-edge AI courses in machine learning, deep learning, and large language models. Students gain hands-on experience in developing AI-enabled systems through project-based learning and research-oriented coursework. The curriculum also includes emerging areas such as LLMs, agentic AI and AI-assisted software development. Graduates of the SE4AI programme are prepared for advanced roles in industry and academia. They are well-equipped to lead the development of next-generation software systems that integrate AI capabilities and components, and innovate across a wide range of application domains.
Behörighet
The applicant must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree (i.e. the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) with at least 90 credits in the main field of computer engineering, computer science, informatics, information systems, information technology, or equivalent. The bachelor’s degree should comprise a minimum of 15 credits in mathematics and at least 30 credits in programming/software development. Proof of English proficiency is required.
