The course includes instrumental or vocal skills training and musical interpretation on the main instrument through instrumental lessons and ensemble playing. The course also includes broader musical approaches in the form of improvisation, playing by ear, and performing music from notation. Students study one of these approaches as a complement to the genre of their main instrument. Broadening of musical approaches for students with a main instrument in: - folk music involves improvisation and performing music from notation. - classical music involves improvisation and playing by ear. - rhythmic and improvised music involves playing by ear and performing music from notation.
