The course introduces the most common unit operations in the chemical engineering industry, their industrial application areas, how they are dimensioned, and the physical and chemical principles on which they are based. The course covers methods for calculating equipment design parameters and degree of separation for the following unit operations: - Absorption - Adsorption - Mechanical separation processes - Distillation - Humid air - Drying - Leaching - Extraction - Evaporation/vaporisation The course also includes clear process diagrams, material and energy flows, as well as phase equilibrium.

Behörighet

Basic course in thermodynamics (7.5 credits) and Fluid mechanics (7.5 credits), or 60 credits from completed courses in chemistry, chemical engineering, and environmental and energy systems. An equivalence assessment can be made.
