## About the programme The programme allows you to develop a scientific approach to and to gain a solid theoretical understanding of public health sciences, with a focus on your chosen specialisation of Public Health Epidemiology or Health Promotion and Prevention. Both tracks include advanced studies in epidemiology and biostatistics as well as methods for outcome evaluation of interventions. Common courses also cover concepts and theories in public health sciences, qualitative approaches and project management. ### The Public Health Epidemiology track With its focus on applied epidemiology, the Public Health Epidemiology track will give you the tools you need to describe, analyse and reflect upon a variety of public health challenges and to critically review epidemiological studies. ### The Health Promotion and Prevention track In the Health Promotion and Prevention track, you will focus on developing the skills to plan, develop, implement and evaluate health interventions at both individual and structural levels. ### Teaching and learning environment The programme is closely aligned with current research and places a strong emphasis on methodological expertise. Student‑centred and active learning are core principles, encouraging you to identify your own learning needs and the resources required to meet them, set goals, and evaluate your learning outcomes. Individual responsibility in learning is supported through blended learning and flipped classroom approaches, as well as through problem‑based group work. New technologies and teaching methods are continuously introduced and assessed for their impact on learning outcomes. ### Student profile The programme attracts a diverse student body in terms of both educational background and nationality. As a result, teaching and learning are multidirectional, with knowledge exchange between students and teachers through discussions, presentations and group work. This diversity also provides opportunities for you to build an international professional network, which can be valuable for your future career.

Behörighet

A Bachelor's degree or a professional degree equivalent to a Swedish Bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in public health science, healthcare or other relevant social sciences subject area. And proficiency in English equivalent to English B/English 6.
