<p>Many of the UN’s sustainability goals relate to the environment and climate. This course gives you an understanding of how these goals are structured and how they can be achieved. A key focus is anaerobic digestion – a process that transforms organic waste into biogas and fertiliser. Through laboratory work and theoretical analysis, you will explore the connections between ecological, economic, and social aspects of sustainable development.&nbsp;</p><h2>Explore solutions for a sustainable future</h2><p>The course examines strategies for tackling global environmental problems by integrating different scientific perspectives. You will learn to identify synergies and avoid conflicts between sustainability goals. A central part of the course involves laboratory work, where you will investigate how anaerobic digestion can purify organic waste from pollutants and generate valuable resources.&nbsp;</p><h2>For those who want to solve sustainability challenges</h2><p>This course is designed for those interested in global sustainability challenges and technological solutions to environmental problems. We use a flipped classroom model, where you watch pre-recorded lectures before participating in interactive discussions. Online laboratory sessions provide hands-on insight into technological solutions for sustainable development.&nbsp;The course is conducted in English.</p>

General entry requirements for undergraduate studies and English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (Engelska 6 or Engelska nivå 2). Exemption from Swedish.
