The course contains different types of mine wastes and mine waste production. Weathering of sulphidic mine wastes: acid-producing and acid-buffering reactions. Formation and dissolution of secondary minerals. Geochemical tests. Passive and active remediation methods. Oxygen diffusion. Mine waters: classification, processes and treatment.
Behörighet
90 credits in Geosciences, including the course L0047K Environmental Geochemistry or equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2.
