<p>This course both deals with basic Python programming, and how Python programming can be linked to, and used in, a geographical information system.</p><p>After introduction and basic Python programming the student learns to program and visualize vector- as well as raster-based examples in a GIS environment. Many different components in Python programming, from input, via algorithm programming, to debugging, are discussed within the course.</p> <p>Course content</p> <p>The following modules are included in the course:</p> <p>Introduction to Python </p> <p>Basic Python embedded data types and the execution flow </p> <p>Object oriented programming with Python on basic and advanced levels </p> <p>Modules and packages </p> <p>Concept iterators, generators, decorators and meta classes </p> <p>String manipulation </p> <p>Input, formatting, file management, operating system, apps, testing, debuggning,adoption of a profile and documentation </p> <p>Algorithm programming with Python in GIS environment  Script programming with Python in GIS environment</p>

Behörighet

Entry to the course requires general entry requirements, English B/6 and 90 credits scientific studies, including 30 credits in GIS. Equivalent knowledge acquired in a different way, also gives admission to the course.
