<p>The Master’s Programme in Language and Linguistics offers a unique opportunity for pursuing advanced studies in languages and linguistics. It is intended for you who are interested in increasing your knowledge of language and broadening your theoretical understanding of linguistic questions.</p><p>The MA programme in Language and Linguistics consists of seven different specialisations and 18 subject areas. Note, however, that not all specialisations and subject areas are offered every year. </p><p>Cognitive semiotics is the trans-disciplinary study of language, communication, media and mind, from the perspective of the concepts meaning and sense. In cognitive semiotics, both qualitative phenomenological analysis and empirical methods, including systematic observations and experimentation, are developed and used. The principal aim is to produce new insights into the interrelations between different communicative/semiotic resources such as language, gestures and pictures, and into their development in children and in human evolution.</p>

Behörighet

Bachelor’s degree in a language subject or linguistics as the main field of study, or a Bachelor’s degree with semiotics or cognitive science as the main field of study and courses in basic linguistics of at least 15 credits Bachelor’s thesis, or other equivalent academic work, relevant to the chosen specialization English course 6 (advanced proficiency)
