Biomass has been used by mankind for energy conversion for thousands of years. Today, the global energy system is dominated by fossil-based fuels, pushing the planetary boundaries over its limits and resulting in climate change with direct impact on millions of people world-wide. During this course, biomass resources and possible energy conversion pathways will be analyzed to understand the importance of biomass for today's energy use.

Behörighet

120 credits including 90 credits in engineering and/or natural science, of which 15 credits on advanced level, and 7.5 credits mathematics. In addition, Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3 and English course 6 or English level 2 are required. For courses given entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3.
