Comparative Literature MA, Contemporary Theatre: Text and Context

The course focuses on key plays and playwrights from the post-1989 period. The selection of texts highlights how playwriting has developed in form and context, especially against the background of this time period’s social and political changes in different parts of the world. We discuss the relationship between these historical changes and the plays, while we also take into account the plays’ aesthetic parameters as artistic works and as components of the individual writers’ broader artistic production.

För tillträde till kursen krävs avlagd kandidatexamen med 90 hp, GR (A, B, C) inom ett humanistiskt eller samhällsvetenskapligt huvudområde.
