This course explores what sustainable societal transformation can mean, how it differentiates from pervious societal transformations and how food systems can be barriers and bridges in achieving sustainable societal transformations. Students will learn about and analyse different perspectives on sustainable societal transformations and how these are being practiced and lived around the world. Throughout the course, the focus is put on the interlinkage between the environmental, societal and food systems. The course has an interdisciplinary perspective and combines theoretical frameworks with practical strategies for leveraging food systems as catalysts for sustainable societal transformation.
