Please use the Statement of Intent form that you can find at our <a href="http://pol.gu.se/english/education/centre-for-european-studies--ces-/master-s-programme-in-european-studies--120-hec-/entrance-requirements-and-selection">Entrance </a><a href="http://pol.gu.se/english/education/centre-for-european-studies--ces-/master-s-programme-in-european-studies-120-credits/entrance-requirements-and-selection">Requirements and Selection page</a>.</p> <p><strong>The Social Science Track consists of the following courses:</strong></p> <p><strong>Term 1:</strong> European Identity and Heritage (10 credits) AND European Integration: Current Research and Theory (10 credits) AND Integrating European Markets (10 credits).</p> <p><strong>Term 2:</strong> Elective courses in Sweden or abroad, or an internship (15 or 30 credits). We suggest Central- and Eastern Europe: Fully European or the European ‘Other’? (15 credits).</p> <p><strong>Term 3: </strong>Social Europe OR European Environment OR Europe in the World (15 credits) AND Research Methods (your choice of four methods courses, 15 credits).</p> <p><strong>Term 4:</strong> Master’s Thesis (30 credits).</p> <p>During the fall term of the first year of the Social Science Track, students can apply for the <a href="http://pol.gu.se/english/education/master-programmes/double-degree-options/fudan-university">Double Degree Track with Fudan University</a>, (apply in December). If accepted, the student will complete their second year in its entirety at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA) at Fudan University in Shanghai, and receive a master’s degree from both universities.</p> <p><strong>You can apply to all four tracks of our Master’s Programme in European Studies:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The Social Science Track</li> <li>The Humanities Track</li> <li>The Double Degree Track with Konstanz University in Germany</li> <li>The Double Degree Track with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States</li> </ul>
A Bachelor's Degree (180 credits) with a minimum of 90 credits of courses in social science discipline(s) such as Business Administration, Economic Geography, Economic History, Economics, European Studies, Human Geography, International Relations, Journalism, Law, Media and Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, or equivalent. A Bachelor's Degree (180 credits) with a minimum 90 credits of courses in humanities discipline(s) such as Cultural Sciences, History, History of Ideas, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or equivalent. Three years of studies (180 credits, equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree) at the Law, or equivalent. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS. Any other entry requirements are documented in the respective course syllabus.
