The course covers basic concepts and methods of probability theory and statistics, and several of their applications. Course contents: \- Sample space and events, the probability concept, combinatorics, conditional probability and independent random variables and their distributions and expected values, special probability distributions, Law of large numbers, Central Limit Theorem. \- Point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, t-distribution methods.
