The overall aim of the course is to develop your ability to produce your own written text in Latin with grammatical and stylistic awareness. This is done through the following three course activities:<br> 1) Linguistic and stylistic analysis of various forms of original Latin text, both prose and poetry, with regard to syntax, semantics, style, word and sentence order, metrics, etc.<br> 2) In-depth study of aspects of grammar, semantics and stylistics particularly relevant to Latin writing with the help of central standard works, handbooks, etc.<br> 3) Practice in producing your own Latin text (prose and/or poetry) in linguistically correct and stylistically consistent Latin.
Behörighet
För tillträde till kursen krävs 90 högskolepoäng i latin eller motsvarande utbildning.
