The Master's Programme in Chemistry at Uppsala University has strong links to world-leading research conducted at the University. As a student, you will have the opportunity for in-depth studies of the specific area of chemistry in which you are most interested. Uppsala University is a highly ranked university, and two of our eight Nobel laureates have been chemists. The chemistry education at Uppsala University was also ranked excellent in the latest ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development, and was ranked top 100 by the QS World University Rankings. The programme offers a choice between several specialisations, all of which are based on strong areas of research at Uppsala University, providing you with cutting-edge expertise. In the specialisation Biochemistry, you will study the chemical aspects of structure/function relationships for, among other things, drug development and protein design. The individual training in experimental, conceptual and communication skills will make you attractive in your future career, either in academia or the private sector. The language of instruction is English.

Behörighet

*Academic requirements* A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is 90 credits in chemistry and biology, of which at least 60 credits must be in chemistry including 15 credits in biochemistry. *Language requirements* Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
