Do you want to deepen your understanding of abstract theories, model complex systems, or analyse financial flows? The Master’s Programme in Mathematics at Uppsala University offers three tracks: Theoretical Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Financial Mathematics. You gain strong analytical skills, freedom to choose from a wide range of courses, also beyond your chosen track, and close contact with active researchers in an international environment. In Theoretical Mathematics, you study mathematics as a logical and creative science, building a solid foundation for doctoral studies and demanding analytical roles. Applied Mathematics and Statistics focuses on modelling and analysing systems in science, technology, economy, and society, with opportunities to specialise in data analysis, machine learning, and computational science. Financial Mathematics combines mathematics, statistics, economics, and computer science to prepare you for advanced work in the financial sector. The programme is taught in English and comprises 120 credits (two years), with the option of a one-year Master’s degree. Career prospects are excellent, both in academia and industry. Our alumni work, for example, at Swedbank, Uppsala Clinical Research Center, Kairos Future, H&M Group, Swedish Export Credit Corporation, and Uppsala University as quantitative analyst, biostatistician, analyst, data scientist, risk analyst. and PhD students.
Behörighet
*Academic requirements* A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is 90 credits in mathematics. *Language requirements* Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
