The audit function is an established monitoring and control function and today we encounter a complex set of different rules and norms within which the auditor works. We also see a number of different theoretical perspectives that explain the audit and the auditors' role and significance. In the course, all these aspects will be dealt and the course especially addresses: The background to the regulations and standards that govern the audit and the auditors as well as the organization of the auditors.
