The course provides an introduction and overview on applied fatigue and fracture mechanics.<br> After a basic introduction to fatigue, both stress-based (S-N curve) and strain-based (e-N curve) fatigue analyses are covered, with a discussion on when these analyses are applicable. The course introduces the fundamental concepts of fracture mechanics and explains how these can be utilized to design against fatigue ensuring a greater level of structural sustainability. Test methods to obtain fatigue related material properties are discussed with emphasis on why these tests should be carried out with utmost care.<br> Industry and academia<br> This course has been developed in collaboration with industry within the framework of one of our educational projects. The project aims to provide advanced level courses to a mix of students and professionals in order to strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish industry.<br> We apply validation of work experience to see if you have skills that correspond to the eligibility requirements for the course. Passed courses of 90 HE credits within the field of technology with at least 15 HE credits on level 61-90 HE credits or equivalent.
