In the course synchronic and diachronic approaches to African societies from the early 1800s to the present are studied. The main subjects to be taken up in the course are the structure of African economies; the principles of political organization; the links between the individual and the collective; the natural resource base; and the production and reproduction of material culture in different African cultures.
60 credits in the field of Humanities, Social Sciences or Education and English 6/English level 2. (Exemption of the requirement in Swedish for those with foreign grades)
