The course deals with the basic structures of Swedish and has a communicative and certain linguistic focus. Texts that students read during the course illustrate grammatical patterns concerning morphology and syntax and contribute to a wider Swedish vocabulary. Throughout the course, students practise their grammar and communication skills in productive and perceptive assignments and in interactive classroom activities. Swedish traditions are highlighted, and students compare these with traditions from other cultures and describe them in simple Swedish.
