Kursen behandlar byggteknik och kulturmiljövärden i befintlig bebyggelse samt renoveringsbehov och myndighetskrav vid ändring av byggnad. Kursen behandlar också byggteknik vid uppförande av större byggnader såsom flerbostadshus, kontors- och industribyggnader. Livscykelanalys och olika miljöcertifieringssystem gås igenom. Slutligen diskuteras utgångspunkter för planering av markområden kring bebyggelse.
