The course is an introduction to urban and architectural design. It will establish an understanding of concepts and organising ideas needed to think coherently and critically about buildings, urban spaces and forms The course also contributes to equip students with the skills necessary for delivering design proposals in a professional manner. The course covers the main concepts of urban design taken from the 20th and 21st centuries, including history studies, space-morphology studies and picturesque studies. The course also introduces different methods for analysis and techniques for presentation and visualisation.
Entry requirements
General entry requirements + Mathematics 3b or 3c or Mathematics C, Social Sciences 1b or 1a1+1a2, English 6. Or: Mathematics Further level 1b or Mathematics Further level 1c, Social Sciences level 1b or level 1a1 + 1a, English level 2
