The course highlights the development and occurrence of signs and symptoms of illness and diagnosis and treatment in both nursing and medicine. It also adresses communication, and education as the basis for the nurse‘s teaching and nurturing function. The course also emphasize eHealth and person-centered care in which communication, interpersonal encounters, ethics, diversity issues, patient‘s rights, privacy, power and self-determination is of great importance. The course includes proficiency training in the ability to communicate and teach, conduct various technical procedures in care, pharmaceuticals and basic pharmaceutical calculations.

The Nursing Profession and the Professional Responsibility of Registered Nurses 10,5 credits, The Nursing Process and Clinical Skills 6 credits, Methods for Evidence-Based Nursing I 7,5 credits, 3 credits from Pharmacology, Microbiology and Immunology 7,5 credits and a total of 9,5 credits from Anatomy and Physiology for Registered Nurses I 6 credits and Anatomy and Physiology for Registered Nurses II 7,5 credits
