The course deals with electricity production using photovoltaic modules in grid-connected systems. The course starts with an overview of electrical grids and a review of the most common components in PV systems and their working principles. The course comprises the planning, sizing, modelling and evaluation of components and complete grid-connected PV systems. The course also includes the simulation and optimisation of PV system designs with the help of a simulation tool.
Entry requirements
PV Technology 5 credits, and Solar Radiation and Solar Geometry 5 credits
