Spanish III Focus on Literature: 20th Century Literature in Spain and Spanish America

The course focuses on the 20th century’s most important literary expressions in Spain and Spanish America. The main object of study consists of a selection of works of literature representing the three major literary forms of expression of this century: prose, poetry and drama. Theoretical concepts which form a basis for literary analysis of these texts will also be studied. Through reading the literary works, major events of Spanish and Spanish American communities are studied in an historical perspective. Relevant literature and literary criticism will be studied in connection to the literary texts.

Entry requirements

Spanish II, 30 credits at First cycle, with at least 22.5 credits passed at time of registration, including the course Spanish II: Written Language Proficiency and Grammar, 6 credits
