The course comprises 4 modules with the following components: Module 1 Music Production, 7.5 ECTS cr - basic sound engineering, acoustics, and listening conditions - overview of tools for music production - procedures in a normal music production - recording, editing and mixing using music notation software - production tools: microphones, mixing board, sound processing. Module 2 Song Production 1, 7.5 ECTS cr - basic arranging music using music notation software - song structures, music structures and forms - basic steps in and approaches to creating lyrics Module 3 The Music Industry and Entrepreneurship, 7.5 ECTS cr - entrepreneurship - business and marketing plan - music industry actors - income sources - copyright Module 4 Song Production 2, 7.5 ECTS cr - writing songs in groups - basic music theory for the rock and pop genres - identifying the rhythm and structures of different lyrics.
