The aim of the course is for students to acquire knowledge of using networks for modern industrial applications and the skills to use standard protocols, understand the power and limitations of open-source software, and apply them to solve engineering problems. Students study the principles of industrial control networks, including SCADA and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) environments, as well as basic industrial communication concepts. Furthermore, students learn about cybersecurity principles and methods.
Mathematics 22.5 credits, Introduction to programming (7.5 credits), Scientific programming (7.5 credits), plus upper secondary level English 6 or English level 2. An equivalence assessment can be made.
