The programme prehospital nurse is conducted as a hybrid education meaning that lectures and assignments take place both at the university and on distance. A specialist nurse has extensive nursing and medical knowledge in a specific health care area. The prehospital emergency care nurse is expected to make adequate judgements, priorities and follow-ups in order to save lives and prevent complications in prehospital situations at home, on the site of an accident and in the ambulance. Practical group exercises with patient simulator at the university's modern clinical training centre and in the ambulance services will be carried out.

Entry requirements

Nursing licence issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. A Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (180 credits), including a degree project of 15 credits, a Degree of Bachelor in Nursing (including a degree project of 15 credits), or equivalent qualifications. Professional experience in nursing corresponding to 12 months of full-time work. Swedish 3 or Swedish as a second language 3, and English 6/A. Equivalence assessment can be made.
