The course provides an introduction to the traditional Swedish welfare state model. Students develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of its components, including healthcare, elderly care, social care, the labour market, the welfare economy and the education system. The Swedish model is compared and contrasted with other welfare state systems. The course may also include study visits.

Entry requirements

At least 60 credits of first-cycle studies.
