Part 1 (3 credits) · Basic perspectives and concepts of intercultural communication · Cultural, sociocultural and psychocultural influences on intercultural communication · Interpretation of verbal and non-verbal messages · Intercultural behaviour and styles in terms of values, social identities, group membership, stereotypes, expectations and attitudes · Intercultural communication in Sweden and between Swedes and people with other cultural and ethnic backgrounds · Presentation of paper in a seminar. Part 2 (12 credits) · Strategic intercultural project: Identification of problem, empirical investigation, report and presentation and opposition in a seminar.
