During the course, students will encounter and develop knowledge in education for sustainable development by studying natural science, with a focus on chemistry and physics. The perspectives considered are (1) the student‘s own deepening of knowledge regarding this content, and (2) an educational perspective in which the student encounters theories regarding children‘s approaches to natural science and the way they learn about it. The visual arts content consists of the student studying and trying out materials and equipment used for the creation of images using various techniques. Key concepts and theoretical perspectives of visual art are studied and discussed. On the basis of a relational perspective, educational methods for meeting the various needs and circumstances of children are highlighted and discussed.
General entry requirements and ongoing training in teaching young children, 45 approved academic credits, or post-secondary studies in educational science relating to young children, 45 approved academic credits or the equivalent.
