Perspective on teaching and education in Swedish preschool

The course will help students develop an understanding of elements of preschool activity in Sweden. The course builds on the students‘ own experiences in childcare and preschool activities according to the traditions of each respective country. The Swedish education system and preschool development are studied, and curriculums for preschool activity in various countries are analysed. The concept of learning for sustainable development is put in a global perspective and related to the learning of young children. The motor development of children and the basics of outdoor education are studied. Students receive training in directing children‘s learning indoors and outdoors.
