<p>Kursen skall ge grundläggande kunskap i diskret matematik. Den studerande skall genom kursen utveckla sin förmåga att lösa problem och genomföra beräkningar inom flera problemområden som definieras av diskreta strukturer. Kursen skall dessutom förbereda för fortsatta studier inom matematik, datalogi och naturvetenskap.</p>
