<p>Ett studie av filosofins historia ger oss en ökad förståelse för hur och varför filosofin har utvecklats till det den är idag. I kursen studeras filosofins historia, med hjälp av både handböcker och originalmaterial. Stoffet får dels en regelrätt historisk behandling, dels tematiseras allmänna filosofiska frågor varvid materialet tjänar som exempel i teorijämförelser. Studenten bekantar sig i detta arbete med filosofihistoriens centralgestalter samt övar sig att tolka argument och föra diskussion vidare utifrån dessa tolkningar. </p>
