Detailed knowledge of proteins and other biomolecules is crucial to our understanding of living processes. By studying protein science, you will be prepared for challenges such as unveiling the molecular causes of disease, designing tools for early and reliable diagnosis, and finding effective therapies. You will gain deep insights into mechanisms of protein action, based on complex structural aspects and mediated through binding dynamics, selectivity, and catalytic function. The programme is offered in an internationally successful research environment. You will have access to large instrument facilities, giving you the opportunity to develop extensive lab skills and participate in exciting projects. After graduation you will find career opportunities in the life science industry and the growing area of biological pharmaceuticals, as well as in hospital laboratories and chemical analysis companies. You may also continue your academic education towards a doctoral degree.

Entry requirements

A bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen with a major in one of the following or equivalent subject areas: - chemistry - chemical biology 10 ECTS credits passed in the field of biochemistry. English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (Engelska 6 or Engelska nivå 2). Exemption from Swedish.
