<p>Cultural and aesthetic expressions are excellent tools for understanding migration, intercultural encounters, and conditions of exile and diaspora. Likewise, racism, xenophobia and the stereotyping ethnic minorities are expressed through images, writing, and media. In this course you will learn how literary narratives, visual arts, photography, cinema, and the performing arts influence our thinking about race, ethnicity and migration. You will study classical texts about colonial conquest and anticolonial resistance, and contemporary debates on the relation of art and racism.</p>
180 ECTS credits passed including 90 ECTS credits in one of the following subjects: humanities fine arts social sciences behavioural sciences health sciences natural sciences or equivalent qualifications English corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (Engelska 6 or Engelska nivå 2) Exemption from Swedish
