<p>Kursen behandlar designens historia och teori ur ett estetiskt, historiskt och samhälleligt perspektiv. Inom ramen för kursen ges en översikt över designens historia från 1850 till början av 2000-talet, med tyngdpunkt på föremålens estetiska uttryck samt roll i en kulturell och samhällelig kontext. I kursen fokuseras även på de textbaserade teorier som är bärande för att få en fördjupad förståelse för artefaktens form och mening. Kursen behandlar även designfrågor ur ett immaterialrättsligt perspektiv.</p>
