How are media and communications shaping armed conflicts? How are conflicts made visible in the news media in different national and transnational settings? How does the media serve as a means by which various actors manage and communicate conflict? From the multi-level Ukraine conflict back to the Vietnam war, students will use a variety of disciplinary perspectives and analytical approaches to address the ways in which traditional mass media and new media are involved in narrating and shaping conflict/crisis.
