The first semester of the general course in English includes a broad introduction to the English language from multiple perspectives. The course includes teaching in culture, literature and language variation in the English-speaking world, and parallel practice in language proficiency. Teaching in linguistics, literature and language proficiency is delivered with the use of ICT. The course is completely online-based and includes no physical meetings. Compulsory examination seminars occur and are scheduled approximately one month before the start of the course at lnu.se/engelska. This distance course is equivalent to the first 15 credits of the 30-credit course English, general course, first level . After completing the course, you may choose to continue your studies in the course 1EN118, which is equivalent to the remaining 15 credits of the general, first level course.
