The course covers linguistic theories and methods, focusing on corpus linguistics and its connection to the study of change and variation in different varieties of English today. The course includes an introduction to recent developments in corpus linguistic theories and methods. The students acquire knowledge of how to use various kinds of "big language data" – not just on the advanced level of academic studies, but also in other contexts.
Entry requirements
English 1-90 credits including a degree project of at least 15 credits.
