The course concerns the practical use of software to analyze high-dimensional datasets with a focus on evaluating economic policy. It only requires basic background in economics and statistics. These issues are illustrated by going through in class, using examples from actual research and policy debate. The course complements Introduction to Economic Policy Analysis with Big Data.

Entry requirements

Economics 15 credits and Statistics 15 credits or course credits in time series analysis and regression analysis, and English 6, or the equivalent.
