Cryptology - the theory of of how to hide sensitive information from adversaries by encrypting them - is probably been as old as the knowledge of writing. In this course, we take a look at the underlying mathematics behind many of the modern cryptosystems, namely those that use public keys for encryption.

Entry requirements

60 credits in mathematics including the course Algebraic structure I, 2MA405, 7.5 credits or equivalent.
