Power electronics is the area within electrical engineering that describes conversion of electrical energy, for example from higher voltage level to a lower or from AC to DC. The course covers basic concepts in electric power and power electronics, different principles for conversion of electrical power and energy, as well as components for the construction of equipment in the field, such as inductance, capacitance, transformer, and transistor. Different conversion topologies such as step-up / down, forward and flyback converters are presented.
Electronics 7.5 higher education credits (1ED041) or the equivalent.
Each offering has its own dates and conditions. Closed offerings are retained as history and do not mean that a new application is open.
