The course explores social sustainability in organizations and working life from various perspectives. It examines both the conditions and obstacles for strengthening social sustainability, drawing on theoretical frameworks as well as empirical examples. Particular focus is placed on two themes. The first concerns the role of labour market actors and legislation in regulating working conditions, wages, and employee influence in Sweden and Europe. The second addresses different perspectives on gender mainstreaming and diversity efforts, as well as how increasingly blurred boundaries between work and leisure, workplace and home, and productive and reproductive labour shape contemporary working life.
At least 90 credits, including an independent project of 15 credits, in a subject within the social sciences or behavioural sciences (e.g., sociology, pedagogy, psychology, law, political science, labour law, or business administration), or the equivalent. Swedish 3 and English 5, or the equivalent qualifications. At least 30 credits at advanced level in sociology or a closely related subject.
Each offering has its own dates and conditions. Closed offerings are retained as history and do not mean that a new application is open.
