<p>Drones are used in an increasing number of contexts, from data collection and surveillance to transport. This course provides knowledge of how drone operations are carried out in a safe and regulatory-compliant way, with a focus on more advanced use cases. </p><p>The course provides an in-depth understanding of drone operations and how technical solutions can be used to address challenges related to society and the environment. </p><p>You will gain knowledge of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and their integration into the aviation system, as well as the regulatory framework governing operations in the specific category under EU drone regulations. </p><p>The course includes both flight theory and practical training. The theoretical part covers areas such as air safety and safety work including SORA, aviation regulations and UAS regulation, navigation and charts, human performance limitations, operational procedures, and meteorology. </p><p>You will also gain knowledge of hardware, including components, electronic design, configuration and basic aerodynamics, as well as open software based on MavLink-compatible systems such as ArduPilot and PX4. The course also covers post processing of flight data. </p><p>The practical part includes training with both rotor-equipped and fixed-wing unmanned aircraft systems, including flight operations and basic maintenance. </p>

Entry requirements

General and TFRH01 (eller FLYF20), Drönares teknologi och samhällstillämpningar, eller motsvarande kvalificerande yrkesverksamhet.
