<p>The course provides theoretical tools for understanding adaptation, intermediality, and the role of moving images in shaping how narratives—and history itself—are created and interpreted within culture.</p><p>ENGD02 is a mandatory course in the third semester of the Bachelor’s Programme in English and is taught entirely in English. The course is offered at intermediate level and requires at least 60 credits of prior undergraduate studies in English.</p><p>The course introduces key theories and concepts in intermedial studies, such as adaptation, mediation, and remediation. You will examine how literary works—both fiction and non-fiction—are transformed when adapted into other media, including film, television, and digital platforms. Particular emphasis is placed on influential adaptations of well-known English-language novels and plays, as well as documentary film and its representation of historically significant events.</p>
