<p>Quantitative and statistical analyses are becoming more and more important in Earth Sciences. This course will give students a deeper understanding of fundamental geochemical systems and geochronological methods and provide the statistical and analytical tools to study them. The students will learn how to approach a given research question through fieldwork, sampling and/or measurement strategies. Project work will include field excursions and the possibility for the students to actively employ specific laboratory measurement techniques. Throughout the course the students will learn how to use computer-based analysis and presentation tools, including basic programming.</p>

Entry requirements

To be admitted to the course, students must have 90 credits in geology, including knowledge equivalent to GEOB21, GEOB24, GEOB25, GEOB32-GEOB33 or GEOB01-GEOB04. Proficiency in English corresponding to English B/English 6 from Swedish upper secondary school.
