<p>The course gives thorough theoretical and practical knowledge about the most common spatial algorithms in GIS. The theory concentrates mainly about spatial concepts and algorithms (both vector and raster). In the practical part of the course, the student implements some well-known algorithms using a standard programming language.</p><p>The course gives thorough theoretical and practical knowledge about the most common spatial algorithms in GIS. In the practical part of the course, the student implements some well-known algorithms using a standard programming language.</p> <h3>Course design</h3> <p>The lectures deal with the basic theory of spatial data structures and the most important algorithms in a GIS. Exercises are mainly focused on programming algorithms.<br /> The course is distributed online and is given via the Internet. It is flexibly designed, which enables the student to complete the course full-time and part-time.</p>

90 ECTS including 30 ECTS in GIS. English 6/English Course B.
